Send documents for electronic signature, free

Upload a PDF, place signature fields exactly where you need them, and email each signer their own secure link. Every document comes with an audit trail and a Certificate of Completion.

How it works

1. Upload your PDF

Upload the document you need signed and add at least two signers with their names and email addresses.

2. Place the fields

Click the page to drop signature, name and date fields for each signer. Drag to move, drag the corner to resize.

3. Send for signature

Each signer gets their own secure link, valid for 14 days. They can sign on any device, in any order, with no account needed.

4. Get the signed file

When everyone has signed, the signatures are stamped onto the PDF and a Certificate of Completion is appended automatically.

Built for small businesses

BizAssets e-signature sits alongside the invoice, quotation, purchase order and receipt tools you already use here, so the paperwork around a job stays in one place. Signing is straightforward: no account for your signers, no software to install, no per-signature charge.

Every document keeps a server-side audit trail. Views, consent, signatures and declines are recorded with timestamps, and the original file is hashed with SHA-256 so you can show the signed document matches what was sent.

If your work needs certified or regulated-grade signing, use a provider that offers it — the callout below explains exactly what this tool does and does not cover.

What this tool is — and what it is not

BizAssets e-signature is a Simple Electronic Signature (SES) tool. Signatures are evidence-based: each one is supported by a tamper-evident audit trail recording the signer's email address, unique signing link, timestamps for every view, consent, signature or decline, and a SHA-256 hash of the original document.

It is not an eIDAS Advanced (AES) or Qualified (QES) electronic signature service, and it is not Adobe Approved Trust List (AATL) certified. Signatures are not backed by a qualified digital certificate or a certified signing authority.

It is not a substitute for notarisation, witnessing, or any document that must be executed by a regulated or certified method — for example wills, deeds, property transfers, or filings where your jurisdiction requires a qualified signature.

This is general information, not legal advice. If enforceability matters for your document, check the requirements in your jurisdiction before you send it.

E-signature FAQ

Is BizAssets e-signature free to use?

Yes. A free account lets you send up to 10 documents for signature, upload files up to 1MB each, and add as many signers as you need (minimum two). Pro raises the upload limit to 5MB and removes the document cap.

What kind of electronic signature is this?

It is a Simple Electronic Signature (SES). Each signature is captured as a drawn mark, tied to the signer's email address and signing link, and backed by a tamper-evident audit trail recording every view, consent, signature and decline with timestamps and a SHA-256 hash of the document.

Is it legally binding?

Simple Electronic Signatures are recognised for most everyday commercial agreements in many jurisdictions, including under the EU eIDAS Regulation, the UK Electronic Communications Act, and the US ESIGN Act. Whether a specific document is enforceable depends on your jurisdiction and the type of agreement, so take your own legal advice for anything significant.

How do signers receive the document?

When you send a document, each signer gets an email containing a unique signing link that is valid for 14 days. Signers do not need a BizAssets account. Any signer can sign in any order, and you can reissue a link at any time if it expires or goes astray.

What happens when everyone has signed?

Once the last signer submits, BizAssets stamps every signature, name and date onto the original PDF and appends a Certificate of Completion listing each signer, their email, their signing timestamp, and the SHA-256 hash of the original file. You can download the finished document from your dashboard.

Can a signer refuse to sign?

Yes. Any signer can decline and must give a reason. A single decline ends the document for everyone, all remaining signing links stop working, and you and the other signers are notified. Nothing is finalised after a decline.
